Meet our New Executives

The Office of OneIT named new permanent Executive Directors of IT for two unit-specific service lines. Effective February 9, Brandon DeLeeuw spearheads Academic Affairs IT support, and Michael Moore leads IT support for Colleges.

In January 2020, former Chancellor Dubois approved adopting BerryDunn’s proposed organizational changes to establish a new OneIT organization. The move created the Business Relationship Leader positions now known as Executive Directors of IT tasked with understanding, prioritizing, and voicing the IT needs of the units they serve.

Brandon DeLeeuw

A United States Air Force veteran with 15 years in information technology, Brandon has served as an adjunct instructor of IT, computer science, and business management courses at Colorado Technical University since 2010. There, he earned his master’s degree in IT management in 2008.

In 2016, Brandon joined UNC Charlotte as Director of Client Solutions and Support. He led initiatives and groups responsible for workstation support, device security, client management tools, and cloud technologies. Brandon said he credits his Client Engagement experiences and familiarity with the University network as assets to his new role. “My directorship for Client Solutions and Support prepared me well to work closely with Academic Affairs’ departments,” Brandon said. “I look forward to leveraging the support tools and experts to build and help forge innovation for the academic and research IT needs of Charlotte.
Michael Moore

With a decade and a half of IT experience, Michael joined UNC Charlotte as an Instructional Technologist in the College of Health and Human Services in 2008. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

In 2012, Michael became the Executive Director of Academic Technology for the College of Health and Human Services and, later in 2020, the Director of IT for the College of Education. In these roles, Michael supported faculty in integrating technology, such as course management systems, wearable sensors, and patient simulations, into teaching and research.

“I’ve been very fortunate to work within the colleges for much of my career,” Michael said. “My goal is to leverage that experience to continue to support the faculty in their research, teaching, and service.”

The pair join fellow Executive Directors David Tobelman for Business Affairs support and Chad Motsinger for Student Affairs support as members of OneIT leadership. For more information about the Office of OneIT Executive Leadership, visit the OneIT departments’ website.
