Mandatory IT Security Training 2026
Beginning Wednesday, September 16, 2026, IT Security Training will be released to all faculty and staff (full-time and part-time). Student workers and temporary employees will launch on Friday, October 16, 2026.
What is IT Security Training?
IT Security Training is designed to raise awareness about information security, good information security practices, and related university IT policies.
How long will it take to complete?
The training takes approximately 10 minutes or less and consists of several modules, each lasting between 1 to 5 minutes. You can view the videos individually as your schedule permits, and closed captioning is available.
Do I have to take this training?
Yes, this training is mandatory for all university employees (including full-time, part-time, and student staff). Even if you have already completed it this year, you are required to take it again. Note to supervisors of student workers: Please make sure you let your student workers know that they must also take the IT Security Training (even if they’ve already taken it this year).

What happens if I don’t complete the required training?
- Since completing this training is a requirement of the Board of Trustees, the Office of the State Auditor, and the Chancellor, failure to complete this mandatory training may result in personnel action.
- Personnel action may be a written notice of non-compliance.
