Google Workspace for Education Plus license for Faculty and Staff
The Office of OneIT is upgrading campus Google accounts to give you better tools for your daily work. On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, all faculty and staff accounts will move to a Google Workspace for Education Plus license.
This new version includes advanced features that go beyond our current basic accounts.
What do you need to do?
You do not need to take any action for this change. Your account will upgrade automatically on Wednesday, July 29.
What new features are included with the Google Workspace for Education Plus license?
You will get access to helpful new tools and enhancements designed to make teaching, learning, and collaboration easier:
- Personalized Gmail campaigns with mail merge
- Gemini embedded in Google Docs and Slides
- Google Cloud Search doing search across all Google services
- Enhanced Google Meet features including waiting rooms and break out rooms.
