OneIT works hard every day to keep our campus connected and moving forward. We are proud to share the Golden Nugget awards for January 2026, which celebrate staff members who go above and beyond to help others. These employees show what it means to be a true partner by solving tough problems, teaching others how to use new tools, and always showing up with a positive attitude.

Pamela Duff

“I would like to take a moment to recognize the exceptional work, more importantly, the spirit, of Pam Duff. In my more than 20 years of professional experience, I have met very few individuals who compare to Pam. Her unwavering support, dedication, and work ethic do not go unnoticed. As a recent example, I needed an iPad for an upcoming project. Pam immediately dedicated her time and patience to assist with setting up the device and resolving issues as they arose. This is just one small example that does not fully capture the powerful, positive impact she has on me and everyone around her. While I understand the weight of the word “always,” I can honestly say I have yet to encounter a moment when Pam was not willing to support my team or me. Whether it involves software, printers, computer installations, or system implementations, Pam shows up. She is focused on finding solutions and moving us toward “yes,” always with the greater good of UNC Charlotte in mind. I would like to personally thank Pam Duff for her incredible spirit, her pursuit of excellence, and her commitment to collaboration.”

“Jermel Wiggins provided excellent service when setting up my computer and software on my first day of work in UGE! He is knowledgeable, professional, and kind. He represents OneIT and UNC Charlotte in a wonderful light, and we are lucky to have him.”

Chuck Foard

“I want to express my sincere thanks to Chuck Foard for everything he does for the Controller’s Office. He consistently goes above and beyond for us. He takes the time to explain how everything works, how systems connect to our processes, and what new guidelines mean for our team. He offers suggestions, helps us find solutions, and always looks for ways to support our needs. Since November, with the new Endpoint Computers guidelines, we’ve needed a lot of extra assistance to keep our payroll employees on physical phones. We receive so many calls, and we never want to miss anyone who needs help — payroll is important to all of us. Chuck has stepped in every time, making sure we stay up and running. And when a phone goes bad, they always look for practical solutions instead of pushing us toward an expensive replacement. Chuck is truly a great asset to the University. Chuck, you have excellent Customer service. Your support makes a real difference.”
