Categories:

Starting January 1, 2026, Beth Rugg will take on additional responsibilities as the Chief Workplace AI Officer. In this newly created role, Beth will spearhead a university-wide initiative to build AI literacy and fluency across our administrative community. This isn’t just about adopting new tools; it’s about transforming how we work and deliver services. By equipping staff with the knowledge and confidence to use AI responsibly, we aim to streamline processes, foster innovation, and ensure ethical and effective AI adoption across all administrative functions.

Since we already have strong AI leadership in teaching, learning and research, this role will be focused on the workplace and administrative operations.

Beth’s leadership will help position our university as a leader in operational excellence through AI, ensuring that our administrative teams are prepared for the future of work. This initiative builds on the work already underway in teaching, learning, and research, helping ensure coordinated and timely progress toward our shared AI goals.

Stay tuned for upcoming training sessions, resources, and collaborative opportunities designed to make AI a practical, everyday tool for improving how we work.
