In Loving Memory of Troy Russell
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our veteran colleague, Troy Russell, a Network Analyst in the Office of OneIT. Troy passed away on October 27, 2025.
Troy was a native of Orlando, Florida, but spent most of his life as a resident of Macon County, North Carolina, before joining the University in March 1996. For nearly three decades, Troy was an indispensable part of our campus infrastructure team. In his role as a network analyst, Troy was responsible for installing crucial fiber optic and copper cables, providing critical oversight for IT infrastructure installations on new building projects, and maintaining and repairing all IT network cabling and support systems across campus.
