Discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced Files: Feb. 2025 Update

As previously communicated, Adobe has discontinued Creative Cloud Synced Files as of February 3, 2025.
If you are unsure whether your Adobe assets are impacted, check to see if you have synced files online here: https://assets.adobe.com/files (login with username@charlotte.edu). If you have synced files, continue reading below for more information and recommended actions.
- If you choose to download your synced files content from the Creative Cloud website after February 3, 2025, you can use the Package Download capability. After March 3, 2025, this option will no longer be available and files will be permanently deleted.
- The process takes a while, depending on the number of files to back up. If you don’t have any content in Creative Cloud Synced files, the package files button won’t be visible to you.
- Beginning February 3, 2025, the Creative Cloud Files folder on users’ local devices will no longer be hidden when they sign out of Creative Cloud. The folder will be renamed to “Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID> (for example: Creative Cloud Files Company Account email@xyz.com ####@AdobeID). Users can rename the folder as they see fit.
- The shortcut for the Creative Cloud Files folder will be removed, and users can find this renamed folder under the following path:
- Windows
C:\Users\<user name>\ - macOS
/Users/<user name>/
- Windows
- It is recommended that you make sure your assets are safely backed up either locally or through a UNC Charlotte cloud storage provider such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Note: students do not have access to Dropbox and should use Google Drive.
Important Notes:
- If your Creative Cloud Desktop version is less than 6.4, you must make a copy or export files from your local Creative Cloud Files folder to your chosen destination. Otherwise, they will be deleted from your local Creative Cloud Files folder when cloud copies are deleted.
