Salesforce Upgrade HR 
Saturday, October 10, 2026; 1:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Salesforce will bring our Human Resources org offline. The expected outage window is 5 minutes, so the impact should be minimal.

Salesforce Upgrade Main and Ascend
Saturday, October 10, 2026; 1:30 a.m. – 3:30 a.m.
Salesforce will bring our initial (NinerCentral, Division of Research, SPS) and ascend ( University Advancement) Salesforce orgs offline. The expected outage window is 5 minutes, so the impact should be minimal.

Campus Building Network Switch Maintenance
Saturday, October 10, 2026; 3:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Network connections will pause for about 10 to 15 minutes per building as local network switches restart with new system updates. Updates will be scheduled in stages to keep disruption low.

These buildings include: Co-Lab, NCRC, and Center City. Note: Bissell House will not be included in this AP upgrade and will be upgraded at another time.

Region Router Software Upgrade
Saturday, October 10, 2026-Sunday, October 11, 2026 (see times below)
We are updating campus network routers with the latest software to address known vulnerabilities and maintain a secure network environment. During these maintenance windows, you may experience a brief, temporary pause in network connectivity (1–2 minutes) while system connections safely transfer over.

Meraki Software Access Point (AP) Upgrade
Saturday, October 10, 2026 11:00 p.m – Sunday, October 11, 2026 3:00 a.m.
Upgrade the Meraki software version to all buildings on campus including off campus buildings: Co-Lab, NCRC and Center City. This software update will be a rolling upgrade as APs download/upgrade/reboot with the new software. Downtime is minimal and will only affect wireless connectivity while the AP reboots.

Building Router Software Upgrade

New Zoom Web Interface Launch
Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. 
Zoom is introducing a cleaner, modern web portal layout. The updated design makes it much simpler to view schedules, update account settings, and access key tools in fewer clicks.

Data Center Region Router Software Upgrade
Monday, October 12, 2026; 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Momentary loss of Data Center access, including Internet-facing services, when the active node reboots.

Campus Lab Computer Upgrades
Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. to Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 11:30 p.m.

The Endpoint Solutions team is upgrading Windows campus lab computers to the newest software version (25H2) What to expect: These updates will run overnight. There should be little to no interruption for anyone using the labs during the day.

Mac computer labs were updated to the Tahoe operating system.

Spring 2026 End-of-Term Processing

During this time, registration will be briefly unavailable. Students will not be able to register for classes while these updates are being processed. Access will be restored as soon as the updates are complete.

Canvas Course End Date
Tuesday, 5/12/26; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In order to comply with the upcoming accessibility requirements that are part of Title II, we will need to set course end dates and also set the “restrict student access after course end date” flag on older Canvas courses.  This update may take a number of hours to complete. There will be no impact to users during this process.

WebFOCUS Upgrade
Tuesday, 5/12/26; 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Upgrade will be applied to both the web and reporting servers. It will be unavailable during the upgrade for developers and users; Portals in Report Central that are running on WebFOCUS 9 will be unavailable.

Network Optimization
Wednesday, 5/13/26, 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday, 5/15/26, 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Software upgrades on the perimeter and data center. During these windows, expect a brief connectivity lapse of approximately 30 seconds as traffic transitions between active units.

MuleSoft Upgrade

MuleSoft servers will briefly go offline during the upgrade. During this upgrade, some integrations for NinerCentral, OneIT Service Desk, Advancement, and some forms will be impacted.

Windows 25H2 and macOS 26 Tahoe Deployment
Monday, March 9, 2026 – Tuesday, March 31, 2026
A mandatory operating system upgrade will be enforced for all campus workstations (excluding labs and podiums).

• Labs and podiums will be upgraded during the summer in preparation for the term.

VPN Client Upgrade
Tuesday, March 10, 2026; 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Users may experience a brief connection delay during their first VPN login after the upgrade while the client updates.

Migrate WordPress and MyPortal Backend
Tuesday, March 10, 2026; 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Backend storage for on‑premise WordPress and MyPortal will be migrated from Gluster to NetApp ONTAP Select.

• Starting at 6:00 p.m., Web content will be frozen to prepare for this change. No one will be able to update content until maintenance ends around 8:00 p.m.
• From 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., the MyPortal and WordPress sites will be offline; users may encounter 404, 505, or similar error messages for short periods. However, my.charlotte.edu, charlotte.edu, and these sites will remain online and fully operational.

Cisco Secure Workload Upgrade
Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This upgrade will upgrade the software to the latest version. No impact is expected.

Transact System Upgrade
Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 11:00 p.m. to Thursday, March 12, 2026, 4:00 a.m.
This upgrade will stop services after hours, update the server, and update the database. These services will be impacted: eAccounts deposits, printing with student account, and vending with 49er account.

Cornerstone Learning & Development Portal – March 2026 Release
Friday, March 13, 2026; 8:30 p.m. – Saturday, March 14, 2026; 1:30 a.m.
This update includes enhancements to:

• Cornerstone Core Systems
• Learning Systems
• Reports 2.0
• Edge Import
• APIs

Denodo 9 Update
Wednesday, January 7, 2026; 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
As the update is applied, users will be unable to access data from Denodo while the Virtual Dataport server is being patched (approximately 15 minutes).
Users will be unable to log in to the Denodo web services – such as the Data Catalog- while the Solution Manager is being patched, as SSO will not be available.

Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 11:00 p.m. to Thursday, January 8, 2026, 3:00 a.m.

Research Computing Scheduled Maintenance
Thursday, January 8, 2026; 8:00 a.m. to Friday, January 9, 2026 5:00 p.m.
There will be an upgrade of the file servers and other servers in the Research Computing Cluster. Customers will not be able to use this system during the maintenance period. Communication has gone out to HPC users. 

Tableau Server Update
Thursday, January 8, 2026; 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Update to the legacy Tableau Server. The Tableau Server instance at irtableau.charlotte.edu will be unavailable during this upgrade.
