In one sentence – what does your job entail?

My job is to provide functional and operational support as the subject matter expert for the Concur Travel & Expense Application.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Never give up on your dreams no matter how hard or long it takes you to accomplish them. It is okay to seek out short-term contract roles/internships to gain hands-on experience in your field of interest and join various professional groups for networking purposes.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I was an accounting associate in a previous role, and my job involved creating various forecasting documents. The Business Analyst began to work with me and asked me to take a look into Business Analysis vs. Accounting to see if I am leaning more towards a career in that area. I was currently completing my doctorate degree and I was creating various reports, analyzing tons of data and I truly enjoyed what I was doing and wanted to expand on this further, and now here I am today doing something I always dreamed of do.

What is something that might surprise us about you?

I hated school growing up, and when I reconnect with my old classmates or teachers they are surprised at how far I have come.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am proud that I did not give up in spite of tons of adversity and I finished my doctoral degree.

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

My favorite indoor activity is making homemade candles.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?

I enjoy watching crime shows in my free-time.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to be a Barista at Starbucks, so that I can mimic those recipes at home.
