The web hosting platform hosting.charlotte.edu is retiring at the end of the 2026–27 school year. OneIT is sharing this news early so you have plenty of time to move your files to an alternative platform. It will be up to you what new platform you choose depending on your needs.
Why is this changing?
Fewer people are using the platform, and modern cloud options provide better security along with more features.
Key Dates & What to Expect
- Starting Monday, October 12, 2026 (Fall Break): New accounts will only be created for students enrolled in a course upon request by the faculty member. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing. For other needs, vendor provided solutions should be explored by the individual.
- Mid-May 2027: All accounts will be disabled.
- Starting mid-May 2027: A web hosting option for personal webpages will no longer be provided. Individuals should identify a viable vendor option based on their individual needs (e.g. Wix, GitHub etc.)
