In one sentence – what does your job entail?
I am responsible for overseeing the business side of OneIT (budget, personnel, contracts, etc).
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?
Take the time to do things right. For example, if you’re applying for a job that really interests you, take the extra few minutes to proofread your documents to make sure there are no typos.
What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I started out on campus as a part-time temp and through encouragement and development from supportive supervisors, I worked my way into this role.
What is something that might surprise us about you?
I was valedictorian of my high school class.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
The first time I traveled solo. I was pretty nervous about navigating a foreign country by myself. It was a great experience and gave me the confidence to keep doing it (15+ countries and counting!).
What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Traveling. That encompasses both indoor and outdoor, doesn’t it?
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
I walk my dogs if I’m energetic and read if I’m not.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Be fully fluent in more languages. I was raised bilingual in Spanish. I can get by in Italian. I took Russian in college but don’t remember anything.
